Call for Submissions

We invite presentations of empirical research, readings and performances of original poetry, music, and theater, as well as exhibitions of artistic and scientific work. All students are encouraged to showcase their original work and join us in celebrating the achievements of their peers.

Students may present in any of the following four categories:

• Paper/Oral Presentation: Presenters will give a 12-minute presentation on their original research, followed by a brief Q&A.
• Poster Presentation: Presenters will stand beside their posters, which describe their original research, and discuss their work with attendees during the assigned time. Printing and mounting are the responsibility of the presenter and their faculty advisor. The Student Scholars Symposium team will arrange display stands and designated areas for poster presentations.
• Performance: Includes theater performances, original music pieces, or readings of short stories or poems. Each performance is allotted 10-15 minutes but may be given more time dependent on the performance.
• Exhibit: Presenters will stand by their art or other exhibits and discuss their work with attendees during the assigned time. Printing, mounting, and any additional display preparation are the responsibility of the presenter and their faculty advisor. The Student Scholars Symposium team will arrange display options and designated exhibit areas.

Each presentation should have a primary author, who will serve as the main contact with the Symposium committee. If multiple presenters are involved, only one person should submit the proposal. The first-listed presenter will be designated as the primary contact, and all correspondence will be directed to them. A maximum of three co-presenters is allowed. For submissions that are collaborations between students and faculty members, the undergraduate or graduate student should be the primary presenting author.
