Description
Willard Collins was the fourteenth president of David Lipscomb College (now Lipscomb University). He attended David Lipscomb College and Vanderbilt University. Milestones during his presidency include: All Student Association formed (1977), girls’ intercollegiate basketball team (first since 1931), first issue of The Lipscomb News, Missions Center founded, Anderson Preacher Training Center/Nashville Bible School established, Golden Circle reunions, Golden Decade launched, Million Dollar Day, Bison Square beautified, second NAIA baseball championship (1979), first Master of Bible degree (1985), endowment increased over $11.2 million, first NAIA basketball championship (1986), and elementary grades 1-4 moved to new location.
